Project - Documentation Efforts and Contractor Account Usage / Account Permissioning Document

After joining I quickly recognized a lacking of documentation surrounding the ERP (NetSuite) integrations with Marketplaces and other e-commerce systems. The Board of Directors was unclear of the cost impacts of their long term plans, and on the ability of the ERP to sustain their activity.  There was also concern over the amount of information contractors had access to as they had not signed any non-disclosure agreements, nor had their ERP roles been properly defined.  As well, the department had yet to create network and technology road maps, leaving question as to what technologies were being used, their age, and etc..

Goals:

I documented the ERP data connections between vendors, affiliated marketplaces, and reseller interfaces, while including the integration technologies used and our license usage. To help identify technology usage and costs, I included both the current and future licensing usage requirements as per the long-term plans. This brought uniformity to the vision surrounding the upgrade path as seen by the Board of Directors and the ERP team.

I created a Contractor Confidentiality Agreement and released it to the management team.  I drafted an Account Usage and Permissioning document which outlined the network, computer, and software account provisioning and approval processes, to help ensure that permission and provisioning procedures are followed by Third-Party contractors.

The IT Team worked to generate network and telecommunications systems diagrams, helping to clarify what technologies are in use and aid in the generation of a technology roadmap. In reviewing this, we found instances of improperly configured devices that were slowing the network.
