Project - NetSuite ERP Optimizations

Since implementation, the NetSuite (Tier 3) ERP had been heavily customized and lacked documentation. The company experienced tremendous growth and changed business processes to adapt, requiring changes to regress through the ERP (workflows, scripts, and the addition of custom records and fields). Upon investigation it was found that some built-in fields had been improperly used.  This needed to be corrected prior to some built in functionality becoming available for our use.

Goals:

I worked with the ERP Team to create an action plan. We documented the workflows coded into the ERP and corrected any issues that were found. We secured and used an ERP documentation tool (FLOdocs) to document the customizations used throughout the ERP. These were then reviewed, adjusted as needed, and then optimized, reducing processing times and simplifying work flows.

The ERP Team also worked to eliminate older Saved Searches, making it easier for the user community to find the correct search to use, increasing overall speeds, reducing saved search counts, and eliminating older searches that were no longer compatible with the current system configuration.

Combined, these initiatives served to reduce processing time spends, simplify work flows, reduce the number of support calls, reduce the size of the database, reduce screen complexities, ensure a higher level of stability in the ERP system, and improve the quality of data retrieved during searches.
