Project - ERP Assessment Project

Lead the ERP Assessment project, with objective to determine benefit in replacing the existing local ERP solution (also used by another remote site), with a different ERP solution used throughout our European locations.  I decided to also consider replacing all of the ERP's with a new one.

I worked locally to document core departmental operations / procedures in Microsoft Visio. Then, working with department heads, I reviewed the working business processes (AP, AR, Production, Purchasing, Quality, Receiving, Sales Order Entry, and Shipping) at all the other locations by:
This provided me with clear visibility on the differences and possible impacts / issues in implementing different ERP solutions. After careful analysis, and considering such things as; support language, support hours offered, availability of consultants, alignment of ERP functionality with requirements, differences in data processing procedures, customizations made to the systems, the customizations that would be required in provisioning of a new system, and costs, it was decided to keep the existing ERP for the interim.  

I recommended that the company move to a single Tier 1 ERP solution in the future, and drafted long-term road maps outlining required changes (global standards for stock code structures, standardized G/L coding definitions, alignment of business processes, reporting requirements, etc.).
